Mountain lion trapped up tree by Jack Russell dog

A mtn lion identified it had been no match for a Jack Russell terrier which trapped it up a tree on a farm within the US state of SD.

The dog's proprietor, Chad Strenge, heard frantic barking close the family's farm in Colman, Moody County.

He learned the 150lb (68kg) male lion, often known as a cougar, clinging to your top rated of a tree with 17lb (8kg) terrier Jack on the bottom.

Mr Strenge, aided by his puppy, chased the mtn lion and shot it dead.

"He trees cats all the time," Mr Strenge informed The Argus Chief newspaper. "I suppose he figured it had been just a cat."
